So many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving

There are so many things to be thankful for this year in addition to friends and family:

  • The wonderful weather
  • We didn’t have any wildfires this year (so far, knock on wood!)
  • Oranges and avocados are ripe on backyard trees all over Fallbrook (including mine)
  • The Fallbrook community — Fallbrook isn’t just a collection of houses, we help each other out and pull together
  • Fallbrook drivers who are almost all courteous to pedestrians
  • All of our local clubs, groups and nonprofits — taking care of our community
  • Volunteers — the backbone of Fallbrook, people who make a difference every day
  • Our public library — bringing the world to us, for free
  • All the local small businesses who make our town so great and unique
  • The county that takes care of infrastructure in our unincorporated community

Shoutout to my terrific neighbor and friend, Robin Williams, the Community Outreach Journalist for this site. Robin has interviewed people all over town and her wonderful videos are so appreciated.

Scott Wilkie played a wonderful concert at the Mission Theater on the weekend

The Joy concert on Saturday night with Scott Wilkie was amazing. Jazz reworkings of Christmas standards — Wilkie is a superb pianist and the band was wonderful with longtime friends Pat Kelley on guitar, bassist Nathan Brown, and drummer Jeff Olson. The acoustics at the Mission Theater were great and everyone had a wonderful time.

Shoutout to Fallbrook Music Society for arranging the concert and to Murphy and Murphy Southern California Realty for their financial support.
