New show The Shape of Things to Come opens April 27 — includes sculpture by Jerome Newberry

The Fallbrook Art Center (Alvarado at Main) has a new display opening April 27 and running through May 24. The show includes a posthumous display of the sculpture of Jerome Robert Newberry (1936-2021), Fallbrookian Linda Wilson’s father.

The show includes only a small fraction of the pieces Newberry created over his lifetime, the displays are from Linda Wilson’s personal collection. Other works are in private collections and with family members.

Newberry worked primarily in walnut wood harvested from the family farm in Missouri. The pieces are built from solid logs, carved by hand. No parts were added separately or machined.
