Oxalis is a sneaky pernicious weed in Fallbrook

My yard is full of oxalis, and I’m still pulling it fiercely. However it’s double trouble! It propagates through its flowers (seeds) but ALSO through little bulbs that grow at the bottom of the root.

I mostly don’t get the root bulb when I pull them, but when I do, it’s like the lower weed in the photo. However sometimes, the root is covered with bulbs, like the upper weed in the photo! Argh! It’s so unfair, how’s a poor gardener to keep up?

What’s the problem, you say? Oxalis crowds out native plants that support our native pollinators and butterflies.
